I only bought this because the one without rubber was sold out. And as I suspected the rubber doesn't feel that great and it turns around the handel, and therefore losens your grib, on heavier pulls. Though the way your hands forms around the bar is a bit better, because of the rubber, on lighter weights. I would recommend this is you don't lift heavy and don't like the raw steel feel on bare bars.
